Miolina officially commences their 10th anniversary season with a program of works inspired by words and drawings. They will be joined by soprano Sharon Harms in songs by Veronika Krausas and Aleksandra Vrebalov, entitled “Hopscotch Tarot” and “Along With Youth.” In addition, the duo will premiere a new virtuosic showpiece, composed by Dan Cooper at Avaloch Farm Music Institute. The program also features Pauline Oliveros’ “13 Changes for Malcolm Goldstein” and Vrebalov’s “Soundshapes.” Please join us for a bubbly reception after the concert!

Miolina presents works that focus on the trees, dawn, light, celebratory energy, and the innovations of mankind. Joined by composer/performer Holland Hopson and poet John Miller. Works by Holland Hopson, Paula af Malmborg Ward, John Miller, Shruthi Rajasekar, Alvin Singleton, and Geni Skendo.
*Saturday children's concert "Scaling to Great Heights" to feature works that celebrate the history of NYC, including the area near the museum. NYC-affiliated composers such as Béla Bartók, Lynn Bechtold, Scott Joplin, and Angélica Negrón will be performed, as well as folk-tunes from countries where many Ellis Island immigrants were born.
Both concerts supported by funding from NYSCA.
